Hi, I'm Julia
I'm Julia Kate Prior, a Gold Coast primary teacher with 17 years of classroom experience, from Prep to Year 6. I hold a Bachelor of Primary Education from Griffith University, majoring in special needs education, and I've also taught in London.
For my final four years in the classroom, I worked as an Enhancement Teacher, supporting students one-on-one and in small groups who needed extra help or extension in literacy. Again and again, I saw how much difference a little targeted practice at home can make.
Why I created JKP Parent Tutoring
I write JKP guides to give parents the same tools teachers use: practical routines, clear strategies and real practice material, without needing a teaching degree. Every guide is aligned to the Australian Curriculum and built around short sessions that fit into family life.
As a mum of two boys, I know exactly what it's like to juggle homework, sport and dinner on a school night. That's why every JKP activity is designed to take just minutes a day.
